Friday daydreaming.

I told myself I wasn’t going to really start thinking about meeting our new family member until next week, but I can’t help it. It’s on my mind. And one of my favorite daydreams lately (and during most of the pregnancy) is about having the babe start sharing meals with his mom & dad. Eating is a big deal in our house. We like to cook. We like to eat. And we especially like to share meals with family & friends.

Growing up we had pizza night every Friday. It was always something to look forward to at the end of the week. One, well, because it’s pizza. And two, we never knew who would show up: neighbors, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends. All were welcome! And all came. I look forward to carrying on the tradition for our little family some day.

What traditions does your family have? Happy daydreaming!

  1. When I was a kid, on Saturday nights we had “casual” dinner night. It gave us kids a chance to experiment, and more importantly our mom a “little” break. From bologna on wonder bread and peanut butter and bacon bits sandwiches to french onion soup, it may not have been the healthiest of dinners but it was a lot of fun and a great memory.

One great tradition we had was going to the Cigala’s on Friday nights for Pizza. We caught up on all the family news.
Another one that brings back great memories was that Mother’s family had a go around on Christmas Eve before we went to church. We visited with aunts, uncles and cousins:-)
