Today, I can’t stop thinking about Sicily (again). Is it too soon to start the countdown? We leave October 27th.
I’ve been day dreaming of a bike ride for the last couple months. Today it happened. Cloudy weather be damned. I haven’t been on a bike since last May! And it felt so good. B & I clocked twenty-six miles with a stop for lunch in between. That’s a good use of day light, if you ask me.
We can’t wait to start bringing little O with us. When did you start taking rides with your little one? And what did you use?
Enjoy your holiday weekend. Hope it’s full of good food and good people.
PS Photo above is from a 90 mile Plymouth, MA to Provincetown, MA ride B & I planned almost five years ago! We’ve always said we wanted to do it again.
Our neighbor’s (and our friend’s) just got back from Paris. I’ve only been once, but it was such a fun, dreamy, surreal experience. We had so much fun guessing what was on the menu only to find out it was nothing like what we were expecting. Think lots of squid ink. (Oops.) My little bit of French only took us so far!
If you could go ANYWHERE right now, where would you go?
Ps If you ever find yourself in Avignon, you must eat at Numero 75. The owner of our B&B recommended it. And it was the only place we could find Marc! But the whole experience was perfect. It was our best meal in France.

Organization! I think it must be spring. It’s finally sunny after a string of rainy days. That coupled with the fact we’ve been in this new, lovely house for almost a year. Things have settled just a bit, and now all those closets where I just threw things? Well, the things need a bit of organization. And I, being me, want to organize them RIGHT NOW. But patience right? Maybe I’ll tackle one or two of them this weekend.
We’re celebrating the end of a long study period for one of our friends this weekend. I’m hoping for a stiff cocktail and a yummy bite or two. Here’s hoping you get what you want this weekend. Cheers.
PS BrightNest. Do you know this site? A great way to keep up on home tips and maintenance.
Friday daydreaming posts are back! And that makes me happy. Today’s daydream: spontaneous travel. Maybe it’s because every time I glance at FB, I see friends having fun abroad? Maybe because spring is finally here and I am craving a new adventure? It’s most likely because I’m a fairly new mother, and the idea of just picking up and going is a bit harder (not impossible) these days. We are home during the week more than we ever have been before. And we’re OK with that; we know it’s a season. But I miss spontaneous travel, even if it was just a late night drive to look at the stars. We used to do that from time to time because B liked to drive so much and well, because we used to have a fun, little car with no roof. Times change!
This weekend we are off for a planned weekend to Philadelphia. It will be great. We’re staying in the city for two nights with a friend flying in from LA. Even though we’ve been a bunch of times, it’s our friend’s first time. So we get to be tourists. We also get to try new restaurants. We’re excited to be going here. Then Sunday, it’s off to celebrate Easter at my parents’ home.
We’re all looking forward to it. I hope you have a lovely weekend. May you enjoy a bit of spontaneity.
I really don’t like to say this all too often because I think everyday can be fun and worth while. BUT I’m very happy it’s Friday. And right now I’m daydreaming about making this a reality in the next couple hours:
If only the setting for the movie I’ll be watching could be so cool! Have a lovely weekend.
PS Here’s a popcorn recipe to check out if you plan on making it this weekend.
I told myself I wasn’t going to really start thinking about meeting our new family member until next week, but I can’t help it. It’s on my mind. And one of my favorite daydreams lately (and during most of the pregnancy) is about having the babe start sharing meals with his mom & dad. Eating is a big deal in our house. We like to cook. We like to eat. And we especially like to share meals with family & friends.
Growing up we had pizza night every Friday. It was always something to look forward to at the end of the week. One, well, because it’s pizza. And two, we never knew who would show up: neighbors, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends. All were welcome! And all came. I look forward to carrying on the tradition for our little family some day.
What traditions does your family have? Happy daydreaming!
